The New Pixel 7a May Come in a Blue Color

The expected launch of the new budget phone, the Pixel 7a, is only a month away. Still, it has caused quite a stir in the community as everyone awaits its arrival. New renders from OnLeaks, in collaboration with MySmartPrice, reveal that the new phone is expected to come in a brand new sky blue colorway, which has surprised many customers. This color will likely be released alongside the traditional grey and white colors. The design of the Pixel 7a remains consistent with that of the Pixel 7, as the camera frame is made of aluminum rather than glass, as was seen on the Pixel 6a.

However, the front of the phone is pretty similar to the Pixel 6a, as it has a centered punch-hole display with noticeable bezels that are common in budget smartphones. Other rumors suggest that the Pixel 7a may have a 6.1-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it will likely be powered by the Google Tensor G2 chip, which was released alongside the Pixel 7 series.

Other reports suggest that the phone will have a 64MP primary camera with an IMX787 sensor, which will be a massive upgrade from the old 12MP primary lens that the Pixel 6a had. A 12MP ultra-wide lens may also accompany the Pixel 7a’s camera. The device is expected to sport a 10.8MP selfie camera on the front.

The leak of the new Sky Blue colorway is not the first time customers are hearing of a blue Pixel phone. In a previous leak from Ronald Quandt, the Pixel would likely be released in Carbon, Cotton, Jade, and Artic Blue. The color names here are representative of the marketing strategy. Still, the Sky Blue may be the Artic Blue Quandt was talking about.

The Pixel 7a is expected to launch in May at the Google I/O 2023 event alongside Google’s first foldable phone, the Google Pixel Fold.
