OnePlus Launches a Limited Edition Phone in India – The OnePlus Marble Odyssey

OnePlus is known for releasing limited editions of its popular phones to appeal to a larger audience. This tradition stretches back to the OnePlus 5T, which was released in a Star Wars Edition and a couple of McLaren editions from the past. The OnePlus 11 is the company’s latest and greatest flagship phone, and to celebrate, OnePlus has now released a Marble Odyssey version.

The OnePlus 11 Marble Odyssey was given a fuss-free launch in India. The same phone was also released in China back in March, but the company had called it the OnePlus Jupiter Rock edition. Despite the new moniker, the device was the same on the inside. It featured all of the exciting changes OnePlus had made in terms of software and hardware. Interestingly, the material used on the outside of the OnePlus 11 Marble Odyssey is distinct from other options available for the original OnePlus

According to OnePlus, the Marble Odyssey variant uses 3D microcrystalline rock material, which is the first of its kind. The design pattern is the key difference between the regular OnePlus 11 and the new limited edition. The newer phone has a new pattern and unique text. President Li Jie claims that the new microcrystalline rock uses 25% lower manufacturing efficiency than regular glass. It also has a 50% lower yield than standard glass. A little over a year ago, reports showed that OnePlus had 9 steps in its manufacturing process.

Reducing the number of steps will help the company immensely in lowering manufacturing costs and making the process much more streamlined. Many fans are also excited to see something different from the company. The phone is not yet available in India, but it is expected that it will only come in one configuration, 16GB of RAM + 256GB of storage. Thus it will be priced at around Rs. 64,999 or roughly $786. This price is slightly higher than the regular OnePlus 11. To justify the pricing, the company is reportedly giving away OnePlus Buds Z2 worth Rs. 4999 for free with the Marble Odyssey version.
