A New OnePlus Variant: Could the Phone Have a Marble Back?

A New OnePlus Variant – Could the Phone Have a Marble Back?

Many materials have been used over the years for phones. The mobile industry has seen metal, plastic, and even leather. Still, it seems that OnePlus is bringing something new to the game. Recently, OnePlus China’s President, Li Jie, posted on Weibo about a new OnePlus variant that will challenge the impossible in the mobile industry. Many assume the post is teasing the OnePlus 11 to be built using never seen materials on a smartphone.

The president attached an image of a OnePlus 11 to the post to give more hints about what the company would release. The picture showed the phone against Jupiter, but the surface of Jupiter looks awfully similar to marble, which may be what the company is hinting at. A Weibo leaker also doubled down on the claims made by Li Jie to uncover what OnePlus had in store.

They suggested that the new phone will likely be made using a new material on its back, which will feel cold to the touch. This statement and the image of Jupiter almost confirm the marble back theory that consumers have. However, there is no news about the launch of this new variant. It will be interesting to see whether or not the phone is a hit or if people find the marble back uncomfortable and challenging to hold.

The OnePlus 11 is a relatively new phone. It launched over a month ago with a matte finish on the back and a layer of Gorilla glass 5 to protect it. Many flagship phones use some kind of glass on the back of their phones to give them a more premium look. Phones such as Galaxy S23 Ultra and Google Pixel 7 use Gorilla Glass Victus 2. However, some phones have changed up their phones and used vegan leather. The OPPO Find X6 Pro is one example.

A phone with a marble back may benefit the user, and the phone itself, as the cool marble may help reduce heat conduction, which would help prolong its battery life. Lower heat conduction will also make it easier to hold when you are gaming or doing other heavy tasks.
