Honor Announces Its Latest Flagship Series – The Honor 90 and 90 Pro With Minor Upgrades

Only six months have passed since the Honor 80, and the company is already revealing its Honor 90 series. This pair of premium smartphones is expected to rock an upgraded camera and a few internal upgrades over last year’s Honor 80 and 80 Pro. The series will include two models, the Honor 90 and the Honor 90 Pro. Both will share similar features, including a 6.7-inch quad-curved OLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. This, combined with the phone’s ability to simulate natural light with its Circadian Night Display technology, will make it easy on the eyes and reduce eye strain.

Both phones are expected to use the 5000mAh battery and have support for 66W fast charging speeds for the standard model and 90W for the Pro version. The Honor 90 and 90 Pro will be available in black, silver, blue, and green. The Pro model will start at CNY3,299 or $465. At this price, the phone will come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The regular variant costs CNY2,499 or $355 for the same memory and storage configuration. Both models are set to go on sale on June 7th in China. However, their global launch date is yet to be released.

The Honor 90 Pro is the more expensive model, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The Honor 80 also uses the same chip, so there won’t be a massive difference in performance between the two. However, the chip is still extremely powerful and is used in some of the most powerful Android phones from Chinese OEMs launched recently. The Honor 90 Pro will feature a glass back panel attached to a metallic frame. The front will include a pill-shaped punch hole accommodating dual selfie shooters consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Like the Honor 80, the phone has a resolution of 2700 x 1224 with HDR support and 1000 nits of peak brightness.

The Honor 90 is the less expensive model and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. The display of this phone boasts a peak brightness of 1600 nits brighter than the Pro model. There is only one selfie camera on this model: a 50MP sensor with a f/2.4 aperture. On the back, it has a 200MP primary camera and a 12MP-ultra-wide shooter. Overall, the Honor 90 series offers compelling value for consumers over its predecessor.
