Will Next Year’s Samsung Galaxy S24 Get an Upgraded Telephoto Camera?

Although 2023 has just begun, and the Galaxy S23 series is not even out yet, rumors are swirling about its successor, the Galaxy S24. These rumors started because of the CES 2023, where LG Innotek announced an upgraded telephoto sensor capable of 4 x and 9x zoom without compromising photo and video quality.

This information was leaked by Twitter leaker Ice Universe, who posted some information regarding an upgrade that the Galaxy S24’s camera could possibly receive in the future. According to the leak, the Samsung Galaxy Ultra could receive an upgraded telephoto sensor. They also went on to inform others that this upgrade will come with an improved mechanism to support it. Ice Universe also speculated that the primary shooter for the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the S23 Ultra might be the same.

Although there is no additional information regarding this matter, customers have tried to guess what the new telephoto sensor will bring to their phones. Many speculate that this new sensor may be LG Innoteck’s brand-new telephoto zoom camera module that was unveiled at CES 2023. According to the company, this new module will be able to provide 4x to 9x zoom while also having an OIS or Optical Image Stabilizer. Together, they will help keep the photos and videos taken after zooming in blur-free.

Additionally, LG Innotek is also aiming to reduce the size of the module, which will help reduce, if not remove, the camera bump that many phone users complain about. Although the Samsung S24 lineup is over a year away, it will take a long time for these rumors to be proven true. It is also likely that other rumors will start popping up about the phone as the year progresses.

Currently, Samsung is gearing up to release the Galaxy S23 series. The main rumor about this series is that it will feature a new camera that will potentially beat all its predecessors in quality. Rumors also suggest that the primary camera will be a 200 MP main lens, and all the other cameras are expected to remain the same as that of the Galaxy S22 Ultra

The upcoming Samsung Unpacked event is not too far and is expected to happen in early February.
