OnePlus released the OnePlus 11 earlier this year, and it has been one of the most successful devices from the company. The company is looking to release another phone earlier than usual to keep this momentum going. OnePlus generally releases one flagship a year. The launch first happens in China, followed by a Global launch. However, it seems like things could change this year. A leak suggests that OnePlus may be preparing for an earlier launch with exciting specifications. 

This leak comes from Yogesh Brar, who revealed the alleged specifications of the upcoming OnePlus 12 and the launch date. According to him, the phone will be released in China in December. Brar also noted that there will be a change in the time frame this year. Although releasing a phone in December is relatively early for OnePlus, time will tell. Since OnePlus 11 launched in Global markets in February, the OnePlus 12 may come even earlier. If these rumors prove to be true, it won’t be the only company to do so. Reportedly Samsung is also considering launching its foldable flagships early. 

The tipster also shared the specifications of the OnePlus 12. He stated that the phone would have a 6.7-inch QHD OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, meaning it would be identical to its predecessors. The phone will also likely use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s next flagship processor. This SoC is already rumored to have a 1+5+2 core structure. Therefore, it includes one primary core, five large cores and two small cores, 

In terms of cameras, the OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a triple camera setup comprising a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 64 MP periscopic lens. This information corroborates previous leaks that implied the company was testing periscopic zoom cameras on the OnePlus 12. The phone will also likely have a Hasselblad integration. Brar has also hinted at a decent 5000mAh battery aided by 100W super fast changing. 

Based on these leaks, the OnePlus 12 may be a substantial upgrade over the OnePlus 11 if the rumored specs are accurate. The early launch will also give it an advantage in the field as the OEM could deliver high-tier phones before the year ends and other companies start releasing their own flagships.
