Motorola Reveals the Lenovo Thinkphone – A Laptop-Inspired Phone for Workaholics

Although Lenovo has owned Motorola for almost a decade, the two companies have never collaborated. This is all about to change as the two companies are finally releasing a phone together. The phone was revealed at CES 2023 and had the name of both companies on it. The Lenovo ThinkPhone is a business-centric smartphone by Motorola, which combines the best of both companies within one device.

The phone is designed to mimic the laptop company’s Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon series with its textured design. The ThinkPhone also comes with a customizable Red Key that mimics the trackpad found on Lenovo’s Thinkpad series. This button can be customized for various tasks from the phone’s menu.

The phone is built using lightweight aramid fiber and Gorilla Glass Victus. This helps protect the screen of the phone, which measures 6.6 inches. It is an FHD+ OLED display surrounded by an aircraft-grade aluminum frame, making this phone extremely durable. Due to the protective layers, the phone is MIL-STD 810H certified and is designed to keep up with a fast-paced lifestyle.

On the inside, the ThinkPhone is designed to seamlessly connect with Lenovo’s line of ThinkPad computers, making it a perfect phone for those who spend extended periods on their phone. This is possible due to the Think 2 Think connectivity powered by Motorola’s Ready For software. Using this, you can seamlessly connect between your PC and phone only when the two are near and connected to the same WiFiWiFi.

The ThinkPhone can also be used as a mobile hotspot that allows you to get work done on your PC when you don’t have a stable WiFi connection. Additionally, you can also use the Thinkphone’s primary 50MP camera or 13MP ultra-wide camera as a webcam. The phone also helps boost your productivity because it comes with a preloaded suite of apps. These give you access to Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams.

This new ThinkPhone will be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is known to power many of the best Android phones on the market today. It will also come with 12GB of RAM, enabling you to multitask. There will also be 512GB of storage. The ThinkPhone will run Android 13 out of the box, giving you complete access to all the latest security and privacy features from Google.
