Motorola X 40 Pro Renders Leak

Motorola X 40 Pro Renders Leak: Will the Phone Look Similar to Its Predecessor?

In August, Motorola released its first-ever smartphone with an impressive 200 MP primary camera. This phone was named the Motorola X30 Pro and was released alongside the Razr 2022 foldable smartphone. Only three months have passed since the release, and rumors are floating around that Motorola is already working on its successors. Renders for this phone have also been leaked, giving fans a look at what the phone would look like.

This alleged render of the Motorola X40 Pro comes from online tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer, also known as OnLeaks, who revealed details on the phone in collaboration with MySmartPrice. The duo revealed high-quality renders of a phone that looked very similar to the Motorola X30 Pro and claimed it to be the alleged X40 Pro.

The renders show off a brand-new camera island that is slightly different from the X30 Pro. The triple camera setup is enclosed in a square camera module, which differs from the large rectangular structure that the X30 Pro adopted. There are also small details that imply that the LED rests alongside all the camera lenses instead of outside the camera module, as was seen on the X30 Pro.

The new cameras on the island are expected to include a 50 MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a brand-new 12MP telephoto camera. If these camera specs are accurate, it would be a downgrade from the X30 Pro, which came with a 200MP primary lens.

Apart from the camera setup, the X40 Pro seems identical to the X30 Pro. The former also has a curved screen with a hole-punch display at the front, and both seem to have the same rounded corners. MSP reports suggest that the new phone will have a 6.67-inch display, which will sit in an 8.6mm thick body. The reports also hint at the Motorola X40 having a glass back. This could help give the phone a premium aesthetic.

The phone will allegedly be powered using the brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and will be paired with 12GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
