The Motorola event was supposed to officially launch two new phones. These were the Motorola Razr 2022 foldable phone and the new X30 Pro, which will be the first phone ever to have a camera sensor. However, the event was canceled the day it was supposed to happen, and no official reason has been released. 

The company has been teasing both phones that were to be released at the event for quite some time. The Razr 2022 was supposed to be the company’s chance to re-enter the foldable phone market. 

Motorola announced that the phone would have a modern design with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. By using this chip, Motorola aimed to make the most powerful foldable phone on the market. 

The Motorola X30 Pro was also expected to be an impressive launch as the company revealed that it would feature a 200MP camera sensor. Therefore, it would be the first smartphone ever to have such a high camera resolution. 

Many have tried to reach out to the company to get a definitive statement on the reason for the cancelation of the launch. Still, a spokesperson has declined to respond to the situation. However, a Motorola executive and general manager, Chen Jin of the Lenovo Mobile Business Group in China, posted on Weibo that the company will release more details soon. 

He simply announced that Motorola had canceled the scheduled launch and that the official platforms would release more information soon. Although the launch event has been delayed, no official statement states that the devices are canceled, simply delayed. 

One possible reason could be the growing tensions between China and the US after US House Speaker Nanci Pelosi visited Taiwan. 

The delay is unfortunate because if the Motorola Razr 2022 was to release on the set date, it would have given it a chance to steal the thunder from Samsung’s Z Flip 4, which before its release, did not have much hype.
