Galaxy Z Flip 5 Intends on Taking Full Advantage of the Large Cover Screen

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Intends on Taking Full Advantage of the Large Cover Screen With New Features and Widgets

Recent leaks and renders have revealed a lot about the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip. 5. One of the biggest leaks was the redesigned cover screen with a much larger cover screen. This leak comes from Twitter leaker Ice Universe which shared information about the cover screen and renders of the device. To show the difference, the tweet gives a side-by-side view of the Z Flip 4 and the alleged Z Flip 5.

According to Max Jambor, Samsung will reportedly make full use of this large cover screen and pack in a few unique and customizable features in the form of widgets. The quick render displays widgets with weather information, the battery percentage, the time, the watch battery and more. To fit in all this information, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will reportedly measure around 3.4 inches and have a resolution of 720 x 748p, according to Ice Universe’s report. The renders also reveal some additional features at the bottom.

Users can expect to use the cover screen to access basic apps like messages, calls, weather and settings. It is also possible that Samsung may make the icons on the bottom customizable, meaning users can change them to apps they deem the most important. There have been many leaks regarding the size of the cover screen, but the latest 3.4-inch external display corroborates previous reports.

The larger cover screen will give users more breathing room, where they can interact with apps like messages and music controls without struggling to select options. Regarding its usability, Samsung’s approach to its cover display has always been slightly different from other foldable phones on the market.

On the inside, users will find the same 6.7-inch display when unfolded, which is the same as its predecessors. On the inside, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip currently used by the Galaxy S23 Series. The Z Flip 5 is also likely to change its hinge to a waterdrop hinge design allowing the two screens to lay flat against one another when closed.

However, all of these are still speculations since there are still a few months till Samsing’s Unpacked Event, which will likely reveal the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in its full glory. There are rumours that the Korean OEM may move the Unpacked event up to late July, but they have not yet been confirmed.
