Google’s A-series is a popular device owing to the long list of useful features, affordable price, and long software support. Recently, at Google I/O 2022, Google announced that they would be releasing their newest budget phone, the Pixel 6a.
The new Pixel 6a is expected to use Google Tensor hardware and will also feature the distinctive camera bump of the Pixel 6. Therefore, it will have the same exciting design as the 6a, but it will be much cheaper. Furthermore, Google has also promised that the Pixel 6a will have speed and tools that are rarely found in mid-range phones.
According to the Google I/O 2022 event, the Pixel 6a will cost you $449, which is the same as the Pixel 5a, its predecessor. Considering the fact that it shares the same features as the much more expensive Pixel 6, it is a steal. The phones are expected to come in three colors, Charcoal, Chalk, and Sage.
Earlier leaks about the specifications of the software were confirmed at the Google event. The Google Pixel 6a will use a Google Tensoe chipset, the same as the Pixel 6, and will be paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of memory. The recent Pixel 6a Geekbench score shows that this phone performs just as well as the pixel 6a in single and multi-core performance.
Google has also confirmed that the Pixel 6a will have a fingerprint sensor, but it will be different from the ones installed in Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which had a great deal of issues unlocking phones.
The Pixel 6a will have a 4410mAh or a 4306mAh battery. Thus, the battery life will not be as long-lasting as the Pixel 5a, but it will be decent. Google claims that this phone can last an average of 29 hours. However, there is no wireless charging in the Pixel 6a.
Many are looking forward to the release of the Pixel 6a, which undoubtedly, will be one of the best mid-range Android phones on the market.
