Warcraft 3 Reforged Now Includes the Horde Campaign from Warcraft 2

The whole Horde campaign from Warcraft 2 has been updated and integrated into Warcraft 3: Reforged by a group of passionate Warcraft fans called LoreCraft Designs. This outstanding project consists of 17 missions that are available to Warcraft 3: Reforged gamers at no additional cost. It features updated artwork, new gameplay elements, and even original voice acting.

With the help of several collaborators and a core team of seven designers, LoreCraft Designs set out to recreate Warcraft 2 using the Warcraft 3 engine. The substantial discrepancies between Warcraft 2 and 3, together with the lore inconsistencies that have developed over the course of the franchise’s nearly three-decade existence, presented them with an enormous problem.

The first part of the Warcraft Chronicles of the Second War: Tides of Darkness project is now complete thanks to LoreCraft’s unwavering efforts. This free map pack for Warcraft 3: Reforged consists of 17 missions that detail the Warcraft 2 Horde campaign. With new cinematics, original voice acting, reworked soundtracks, and updated game mechanics, the free campaign is packed with modern lore from World of Warcraft and companion literature. Fans now have the chance to revisit Warcraft 2 with an updated engine thanks to this mod. For those who are interested, the Warcraft 3: Reforged mod is available for free on Hive Workshop.

Although LoreCraft’s amazing custom campaign is an impressive accomplishment, this is only the first step in their effort to bring the vintage Warcraft real-time strategy games back to life. As part of the ongoing Chronicles of the Second War project, future plans call for reenacting the Human campaign from Warcraft 2. At the same time, the group is working on a mod called Chains of Conquest, which is still in its early stages of production and deepens the story of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans by exploring the birth of the Horde and the fall of the Draenei.

Similarly, some fans are working on projects such as Warcraft 3: Re-Reforged, which seeks to update the Warcraft 3 campaign in a way that remains true to Blizzard’s original plan from when the remaster was first revealed. 

These ambitious modifications have the potential to revive player interest in the upgraded real-time strategy game Warcraft 3: Reforged, despite the game’s lackluster reception upon release.
