Vivo launched its next line of flagship phones in China and beat every other phone to become the first phone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. With the new chip and its OriginOS3 software, this line of Vivo phones brings forth a new and much more powerful generation of smartphones.
Similarly to their previous lineup, Vivo has included three variations: the X90, X90 Pro, and the X90 Pro+. The priciest model of the three, the Vivo X90 Pro+, features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a quad-camera setup at the back, with its primary camera being the 1-inch Sony IMX989 50MP camera. Alongside this camera are a 50MP telephoto lens and a 48MP ultra-wide lens. There is also a second 64MP periscope telephoto lens.
The front-facing camera on this phone is 32MP and is excellent at capturing high-definition selfies. On the inside, the new X90 Pro+ contains the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 and runs Vivo’s Origin OS 3. The phone is expected to see a few updates throughout its lifespan. There is also a V2 chip that Vivo launched, designed to enhance the computing and image-processing capabilities of the phone.
The Vivo X90 Pro+ also provides users with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and Wi-Fi 6. It also has a sizable 4,700mAh battery and 80W wired charging. You can also charge this phone wirelessly, but the speeds only go up to 50W, meaning it will take this flagship approximately 33 minutes to charge fully.
The Vivo X90 Pro+ comes in two variations. One offers 12GB RAM and 256 GB storage, and the other, a higher-end one, offers 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. It also comes in two colors called, China Red and Original Black. The phone is available to pre-order and is set to release on December 6, 2022.
The cheaper models, Vivo X90 and X90 Pro, are impressive phones but are comparatively less feature-packed than the Vivo Pro+. These phones have a triple camera setup on the back with a 50MP primary shooter, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 12M ultra-wide lens.
