The Motorola Edge 40 Pro – Motorola’s Latest and Greatest

Motorola has seemingly stepped up its game with its latest premium smartphone, whose spec sheet seems like a dream for most smartphone enthusiasts. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro is a high-end smartphone with a 6.67-inch 165Hz FHD pOLED simply, with an endless edge design. This means that all four edges of the screen are curved into the aluminum frame. This allows, what Motorola calls, superb comfort.

Like the previous models, this new device is IP68 water and dust resistant. There is also an anti-fingerprint coating, which keeps the screen smudge-free. The phone is covered in Gorilla glass Victus, which means it is protected from all four sides and will be able to withstand almost all of life’s unpredictable moments. Like other phones, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro is powered by the latest and greatest Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

The phone also has 256GB of ultra-fast UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM, which allows for added speed. On the back of the phone, the company decided to redesign the camera housing, which still has three cameras, just like its predecessor, the Edge 30 Ultra. The cameras all feature a 50MP camera with all-pixel PDAF and OIS, alongside a 12MP 2x telephoto camera and a 50 MP ultra wide/macro camera. Motorola has also seemed to upgrade the selfie camera to 60 MP so that it can take perfect selfies.

Regarding its recording quality, the Edge 40 Pro will be able to record video in up to 8K resolution or 4K HDR10+. It also comes with several recording tricks. Users will be able to shoot in video portrait mode and have a new video night vision mode to play around with. The phone is also capable of using auto-focus tracking in a standard recording. Even when recording extreme sports, Motorola notes that the new horizontal lock stabilization will ensure that the video comes out smooth.

The company has also introduced a new Moto Spatial Sound feature, which uses Dolby Atmos and two prominent on-body speakers to improve video watching on the phone. The last upgrade Motorola has made is to push the charging capabilities of the phone to their limits. The Edge 40 Ultra will now have a 4600mAh battery with 125W charging capability and 15W wireless charging support.
