Leaked Galaxy Z Flip 5 – Could the Motorola Razr Be a Better Phone?

Samsung’s next clamshell phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, is highly anticipated owing to its massive competition with the Oppo, One Plus, and Razr foldable. Although the phones are set to release in late July, the specs have been leaked online, giving customers an idea of what to expect with the summer launch. Yogesh Brar revealed These specs on Twitter, giving details on what to expect from the new device.

According to Brar’s tweet, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in terms of specs. This means that the Flip 5 will likely have the same 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120z refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, 128 and 256GB of storage, and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W charging support. The rear cameras will also likely have the same 12MP resolution.

One of the biggest differences between the two models is the cover display and the chipset. Rumors and renders in the past have pointed to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 having a large external display. This is corroborated by Brar, who mentions that the cover display will measure 3.4 inches, which is comparatively much larger than the 1.9-inch panel on the Galaxy Z Flip 4. However, it is still smaller than Motorola Razr Plus’s 3.6-inch cover screen, but not by much.

Regarding the chipset, the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 will likely use the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. This will give it an edge over the other clamshell foldables in the market, which are powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is a relatively expensive phone. The phone is expected to cost $999 for the 128GB model, while the Razr Plus costs the same but has double the storage. The Razr Plus also comes with a 3800mAh battery and 30W wireless charging, which makes it a better deal overall.

For the Z Flip cameras, Brar has not found any evidence to suggest that the resolution has been improved, but in a previous statement, they stated that the sensors will be new. This means that the imaging capabilities have likely enhanced, allowing the phone to take better pictures. Other changes include the new hinge for the Z Flip 5, which has been teased before. Sources also reveal that the Z Flip 5 finally has dust resistance.
