If not the series, all of us have seen the famous Ortega dance scene from Wednesday. The mysterious beauty dances away in the song Bloody Mary by Lady Gaga. As enticing and unique as the performance is, the show is even better! 

Wednesday is based on the Addams Family’s daughter, Wednesday Addams, and her journey in the Nevermore Academy. You’ll see her survive multiple killing attempts, befriend different people, and become part of the Love Triangle. But before you begin, it’s essential to learn the history of each character. Be cautious because there are so many spoilers ahead. 

So, if you haven’t seen the show yet, we advise you to watch it now, and for those who have, this guide will just add to your knowledge about your favorite characters from the famous Netflix TV series. 

The Cast and Characters in Wednesday

Here’s a list of the characters that appear in Wednesday:

Wednesday Addams, Played By Jenna Ortega

Jenna Ortega, also known as the Scream Queen, adds that perfect gothic touch to the Wednesday Addams character with her mysterious persona. She is the title character, the daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams, who has been admitted to the Nevermore Academy after she attempted to kill one of the students in the high school she studied in previously. 

Her new high school helped her better grasp her psychic powers, and she developed a personal learning. But she gets surrounded by a mystery murder that takes place a decade ago. Jenna also plays the character of Goody Addams, an ancestor from the 17th century. And she’ll be back with more in season 2!

Enid Sinclair, Played By Emma Myers

In Wednesday’s dark life, Enid Sinclair is the dash of bubbliness and cheeriness. She is her roommate, a werewolf, but is outcasted by her family for having trouble transitioning into a wolf. They may have their odds, but they form a friendly bond in the first semester of their high school at Nevermore. Enid’s role is the second most important in the drama series, and goes through a massive transformation. Myer’s played different roles before she joined the cast of Wednesday. She was in The Baker, Girl in the Basement, and The Baker. 

You will be seeing Emma as the leading actor in the movie A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Myer’s will be returning to Wednesday season 2 as a friend and not more, for those who wanted to see them as a loving pair. 

Gomez Addams, Played by Luis Guzman

Gomez Addams is the father of Wednesday Addams and was accused of killing Jericho Normie 30 years back. As a result of his past, his daughter has faced the repercussions, especially in her new school. Guzman is expected to play the same role in Season 2 of Wednesday! He’s famous for his Narcos, Ox, Boogie Nights, and Traffic roles. 

Morticia Addams, Played by Catherine Zeta-Jones 

Morticia is the mother of Wednesday and the wife of Gomez Addams. She’s a mysterious beauty and exactly where Wednesday gets her gothic touch. Morticia is also a psychic and went to the  Nevermore Academy in the past, around 30 years ago. Now, Wednesday is on the same road as her to discover her inner capabilities. We’re sure they’ll return as a Wednesday character, even if it is a minor role. 

Pugsley Addams, Played By Isaaz Ordonez 

Pugsley Addams is the youngest member of the Addams family and Wednesday’s little brother, who has been bullied for a long time. He played a supporting role and didn’t do much in the story except just exist. His coming back in season 3 is still a mystery. Ordonez has appeared in movies like 7th and Union and A Wrinkle in Time. 

Xavier Thorpe, Played By Percy Hynes White

Thorpe is another mysterious candidate at Nevermore Academy with the ability to bring his drawings to life. Xavier Thorpe is a troubled kid, especially with his father Vincent’s legacy, who has no time for his son. Xavier, also Rowan’s roommate, dated Biance; both are the suspects in the murder case. He and Addams have something going on, but we can’t say he’ll be returning in season 2 because Wednesday specifies that nothing can go on between them. Percy White is famous for his roles in A Christmas Horror Story, The Gifted, and Edge of Winter. 

Tyler Gaplin, Played By Hunter Doohan

Tyler plays the role of the normie son of the Sheriff Gaplin. He is a teenager working in the coffee shop known as the Weathervane Cafe and befriends Wednesday Addams. Surprisingly, he isn’t what he portrays and is the second antagonist in the series, the killer Wednesday has been hunting for. His reality ruined the connection Wednesday, and Tyler shared. Tyler might make a comeback, mainly because he was taken in custody at the psych hospital to get treated. He may be the next villain; you never know. Hunter has played significant roles in Truth Be Told and Your Honor. 

Marilyn Thornhill, Played by Christina Ricci

Thornhill plays the role of a dorm mother at Ophelia Hall, where Enid and Wednesday live together.  She is the first normie member amongst the Nevermore Academy staff and also teaches students Botany. Christina was a massive star in this movie, mainly because she played the role of  Wednesday in the 1991  and  1993 Addam Family films. What made things interesting was how Marilyn was the villain in the series. In season 1, we didn’t see what went down with her, but it is safe to say there is a chance she might make a comeback. 

Christina has played multiple roles, starring in films like Casper, Now and Then, The Matric Resurrections, and more. She was also nominated for an Emmy for her performance in Yellowjackets. 

Principal Larissa, Played by Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline leads the Nevermore Academy as the principal in Wednesday. She isn’t a big fan of the Addams Family, especially after an incident in the past. She was the roommate of Wednesday’s mother, Morticia, when they both studied in Nevermore. Larissa still holds a grudge against Moriticia even after 30 years have passed. There’s not a high chance she might be acting in season 2 as she made a sacrifice. 

Gwendoline is famous for her role as Brienne of Tarth in the Game of Thrones series. She has also played other roles in Star Wars sequel movies and Lucifer. 

Uncle Fester, Played By Fred Armisen

Armisen is the criminal Uncle Fester who, on his run, stops at the Nevermore Academy. He stole the screen time with his exciting role, and the rumor is that he might have his spinoff series. He has played in films like Saturday Night Live and Moonbase 8. He has also voiced Cranky Kong in the Super Mario Bros movie. 

Thing, Played by Victor Dorobantu

The living hand you see around Wednesday has been servicing the Addams family for a long time. Victor Dorobantu makes his debut, and using CGI blue screen technology, only his hand is seen, and the actor has been eradicated. He is popularly known as the illusionist and the magician. He will indeed be back in season 2 as her trusted partner.

Dr Valerie Kinbott, Played Riki Lindhome

Lindhome plays the role of a local psychiatrist who takes Wednesday in as her patient. Since she died in season 1, there isn’t any chance she’ll be returning in season 2. Apart from this series, she’s played comedic roles in Garfunkel and Oates, Much Ado About Nothing, Another Period, The Muppets Mayhem, and more. 

Lurch, Played By George Burcea

Lurch is the butler of the Addams family, and the only role he played was driving Wednesday to Nevermore Academy and then back home at the end of season 1. The tall Romanian actor has been part of shows like Comrade Detective. There might be a chance he will make a comeback in season 2 for the same role. 

Mayor Walker, Played By Tommie Earl Jenkins 

Mayor Walker was previously a Sheriff when Morticia and Gomez were students in the Nevermore Academy. He has always been a friend to outcasts, protecting them and his town from outsiders. Thornhill was killed in season 1, so there isn’t a chance of his return. 

Apart from Wednesday, Jenkins will be playing Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2 and Paradise Highway. 

Bianca Barclay, Played by Joy Sunday

Bianca is your typical Queen Bee at the Nevermore Academy. She just broke up with Xavier and may come off as hard in the initial episodes. But she’s the one who helped Wednesday, and together, they put their hatred in the past. Since she was alive in season 1, there might be a chance she will also be a part of season 2. 

Joy is famous for her roles in Dear White People, the 2022 Channing Tatum Movie, and Dog. 

Eugene, Played ByMoosa Mustafa 

Eugene is a dear friend of Wednesday’s from the beekeeping club. He is one of the youngest students in the academy and grows a lot in season 1. Eventually, he’s able to stand up and fight towards the end. Eugene was the one who saved Wednesday from Thornhill through the swarm of bees that were in his control. There is still no news about his return to season 2. 

Moosa has played in projects such as The Last Bus and Nativity Rocks!

Lucas Walker, Played By Iman Warson

He is the Mayor’s son, who doesn’t have the best relationship with Wednesday. He resides near Nevermore and works at the Pilgrim’s World. Eventually, he provides Wednesday with the evidence of her hunt to find the killer. Since his father died, there is a lower chance of his coming back. He’s played in Split Sole, which is a short film. 

Rowan, Played By Calum Ross

Rowan is another outcast in the Nevermore Academy. He is a telekinetic student and uses his power to be in the Nightshade Society. Even though he failed, he tried twice to kill Wednesday and believed he was fated to do it. Eventually, he dies when Hyde appears and kills him instead. Apart from Wednesday, he is played in a small thriller and horror film, Vince.
