The film centers on the dollmaker Samuel Mullins and his wife Esther Mullins, who, in 1971, welcomed a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home. One of the girls, Janice, is possessed by the demon that later takes possession of the Annabelle doll and terrorizes their family.

3. Annabelle (2014)

Annabelle is a 2014 American supernatural horror film directed by John R. Leonetti, produced by James Wan, and written by Gary Dauberman. The film is a prequel to the 2014 film The Conjuring and the third installment in The Conjuring franchise.

The movie starts with John and Mia expecting their first child and finding an old doll in their antique store. They give it to their daughter because it reminds them of how they fell in love. 6. The Curse Of La Llorona (2019)

The Curse of La Llorona is set in 1973 when an old curse haunts a social worker and her kids, Chris and Samantha. They have to undergo the worst time when La Llorona haunts the kids and is set to take them away from Anna. Anna is scared and doesn’t want to lose her kids, especially because she has lost her husband. The only way her family can survive is if the Priest helps set the matter straight and take things into his hand to put an end to La Llorona once and for all. 

7. The Conjuring 2 (2016)

The Conjuring 2 is a 2016 American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan. It is the sequel to the 2013 film, The Conjuring and the second installment in The Conjuring series.

The movie tells the story of how Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Rather than being set in Rhode Island as its predecessor was, The Conjuring 2 is set almost entirely at the Enfield home.

8. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)

The third installment of the Conjuring series is set in 1981, where for the first time, a murder suspect uses demonic possession as his defense. Ed and Loraine are surprised, the events occur after the exorcism by a couple that left a demon in Arne, and Ed was left unconscious for months. Arne is possessed by the devil, who makes him commit heinous crimes and kill people. Ed and Loraine, including the couple, help Arne stop the demon and let Arne free.
