Asus’s Next Flagship Has Been Spotted on Geekbench With a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chipset

Asus’s ROG Phone line is known to be the best Android device to game on, given that they have excellent hardware that can easily handle heavy-duty games. The ROG 6 is a perfect example of a good gaming phone, and its successor will likely be in the same as reports suggest that the phone will be powered using the best chip on the market that comes from Qualcomm; the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Asus is reportedly gearing up to release two variants as part of its Asus ROG Phone 7 series. Both phones have recently been spotted on Geekbench, which reveals that the phones will be equipped with Qualcomm’s 4nm-based Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Alongside the processor, other potential specs have also been listed for the ROG Phone 7 and 7D. For example, Geekbench states that the phone will come with Android 13 out of the box and have up to 16 GB of RAM.

The ROG Phone appeared with the model number AI2205_B and featured an octa-core CPU with a peak clock speed of 3.19GHz and a base clock speed of 2.8GHz. The phone also had an Adreno 740 GPU.

The benchmark test results revealed that the ROG Phone 7 and 7D received 2012 and 5697 points in single and multi-core tests, respectively. The regular phone was also tested, scoring 2022 and 5719, respectively. Despite customers wanting more information, this was all that could be extracted from the Geekbench listings. However, previous leaks have revealed quite a bit of information.

Customers can expect a high-quality device made to challenge the best Android phones on the market because the upcoming device from Asus is expected to have an AMOLED screen with a 165Hz display and an excellent processor. The company will likely release three models in the ROG Phone 7 series. This will include an Ultimate model alongside the regular ROG Phone and the Phone 7D.

The release date for these phones has not yet been released, but if Asus sticks to its previous release schedule, customers can expect the regular model to arrive this summer. The rest of the lineup will likely debut later this year in the fall if all goes as planned.
