OnePlus 12R: First Leaks For This Mid-Tier Phone

The leaked renders of the OnePlus 12R, courtesy of Steve Hemmerstoffer and MySmartPrice, shows off a design that seems to draw heavy inspiration from its predecessors, the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R. These images give us an early look at the upcoming smartphone before its official launch.

It appears that OnePlus is continuing the trend of offering a toned-down version of its flagship model with the OnePlus 12R. This strategy aims to provide a more budget-friendly option for consumers who might not need all the high-end features of the flagship model, the OnePlus 12.

While specific details about the OnePlus 12R’s specifications and features are still scarce, the renders suggest that it will maintain the overall design language of its predecessors. As with previous “R” models, the OnePlus 12R is expected to cater to the Indian market, offering a compelling blend of performance and affordability.

The OnePlus 12R retains the same camera visor setup as its predecessor, housing three rear cameras. According to leaks, the device is expected to boast a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a notable upgrade—a new 32MP telephoto shooter.

With the inclusion of a higher-resolution telephoto lens, users can expect improved zoom capabilities and overall image quality when capturing distant subjects. The phone is also rumored to be powered by the high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is a flagship chipset seen in many top-tier Android phones this year.

The OnePlus 12’s screen is expected to be a 6.7-inch AMOLED display on the front, featuring a higher 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. The display will also boast a 1.5K resolution, offering sharp and vibrant visuals, making it a great choice for multimedia consumption and gaming.

On the front of the OnePlus 12R, a centered hole-punch design is anticipated, housing a 16MP selfie camera. This configuration allows for a more immersive viewing experience without any distracting notches or bezels.

Internally, OnePlus 12R will likely feature a 5500mAh battery, providing ample power to keep the device running for extended periods without needing frequent recharging. Moreover, the phone is likely to support 100W fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up their battery when needed, making it convenient for those on the go.

In terms of software, the OnePlus 12R is rumored to run OxygenOS 14, based on the latest Android 14 operating system. This combination will bring the latest features and enhancements to the device, ensuring a smooth and up-to-date software experience for users.
