List Of All The Disney Princesses In Order

We have grown up with all the Disney princesses, and we all have our favorites, but if you have missed out on any, here’s your chance to discover the new ones and relive the old ones. Let’s discover the correct order to watch all the Disney princess movies!

1. Snow White

Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs – 1937

This movie was the first ever animated Disney princess feature, making it the first princess flick, all thanks to Disney. But did you know a new action feature is airing in the year 2024, and we can’t wait for it to come out? This movie has the cutest love story and drama that keeps little girls and adults interested. In the move to escape her mother, Snow White ends up finding a group of 7 dwarfs who become family to her. She cares for them but eventually becomes a part of her stepmother’s schemes. The apple becomes a source of her problem, but the prince’s kiss saves her.

2. Cinderella

Cinderella (1950)

Another favorite is the Cinderella story, the same old stepmother that today’s audiences might not appreciate, but it did work in those years. It took a long time for Disney to let go of the story. Cinderella ends up finding her prince charming while she’s dressed up as a beautiful princess. As the clock strikes 12, Cinderella runs away, leaving behind her glass slipper, leading the prince to find her.

Cinderella II: Dreams Come True – 2002many

This movie is about Cinderella’s friends, the mice, and the little animals narrating the story of her life after marriage. There’s not much to tell except how Anastasia and Cinderella form a friendship together and let go of old wounds.

Cinderella III: A Twist  in Time – 2007

This movie is more of a video sequel and adds depth to each character. It is a time-traveling adventure, explaining the way each character is. This part is considered one of Disney’s top animated movies during this time.

Cinderella – 2015

This live remake movie of the Cinderella story was a massive hit! The movie came out in 2015, with Lily James starring as Cinderella. The movie shows how young Ella finds herself stuck and at the mercy of her evil stepmother. She struggles to make her stepmother happy and everything smooth. But eventually, she crosses paths with a handsome man, and things escalate from there.

3. Ariel

The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning –  2008

This is a prequel to The Little Mermaid and starts from the beginning, telling the story of the death of Ariel’s mother. The movie is cute, and if you are a fan of Sebastian, Ariel, and the little creatures and family underwater, you will love this movie! So, if you plan to have a movie night, it’s best to begin the bingeing session by watching this one first.

The Little Mermaid – 1989

This movie has made the kids and even adults fall in love with the creatures of the sea and Ariel. The Little Mermaid introduced the concept of mermaids to the kids. This determined and intelligent girl wants to explore the land and falls in love with a charming Prince. It all starts when she saves the prince’s life when his shipwrecks on the night of the storm. In the hopes of living as a human, she gets rid of her tale and explores the new world, leaving her father and friends behind.

The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea – 2000

What’s a Disney movie without some family drama? Ah, nothing, but we all get a happy ending, so it doesn’t really matter. Ariel finally becomes a mother, and in the hopes of protecting her daughter from the sea world, she becomes rigid.  Ariel makes the same mistake her father did by cutting her daughter off, but eventually, things will escalate, and a lot of drama will unfold. But the best part is there will be a happy ending, so you need not worry.

The Little Mermaid – 2023

Ariel is played by Halle Bailey, who comes up in this live movie remake. This movie created a whirlwind, with racists throwing off silly comments and creating trouble. But if you’re a true Disney fan, you will love how Halle played the character, and her performance throughout the movie was outstanding.

4. Aurora

Sleeping Beauty – 1959

Haven’t we all grown up hearing the story of the sleeping beauty? This is a personal favorite. The movie talks about the life of Aurora and how she’s stuck in a spell. This female-led movie is super cute, especially with the Three God Fairies playing their roles. The movie shows how an evil fairy curses Aurora with a spell that can only be broken by the kiss of a Prince. Come along as the fairies and the Prince Charming help save the life of the sleeping beauty.

Maleficent- 2014

In the Maleficent series, Aurora isn’t the center of attention. It revolves around the life of the evil fairy who makes the life of Elle Fanning hell. But eventually, Maleficient understands that the girl might be the only source to restore peace in the land.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil – 2019

The life of Aurora takes a different turn in this sequel. She becomes the wife of Philip, who is a prince, and then rules her land. Maleficent and Aurora have a complex family, and something binds them together. They form allies and come together to fight dark forces.

5. Belle

Beauty and the Beast – 1991

Beauty and the Beast features Belle, a book lover who spends time learning new things. She prioritizes brains over beauty, which makes her the right match for Beast. He is a spoiled human turned beast whom a magician has cursed for his behavior. Now, the Beast has to make a woman fall in love, and only true love will break his curse. Initially, the Beast is mean to Belle, but eventually, they fall for each other, and things take a better turn.

Belle’s Magical World – 1998

Disney took a different turn, and instead of doing a sequel, they decided to go for a midquel. This movie is based in the middle of the first part, scenes we all didn’t get to see. It shows episodes of when the Beast was a human and how things took a play. It is an exciting way of showing the events.

Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas – 1997

Originally, this was the first sequel to the movie, but this one makes things even cute. It portrays how things get normal at the castle, and then Mrs. Potts narrates how Belle played a role in normalizing Christmas and how she played a massive role in saving Christmas for them. She compares it to before and after Belle came into their lives. The movie revolves around this and showcases it nicely.

Beauty and the Beast – 2017

Belle, played by Emma Watson, showcases the remake of the original film. It shows the back story of Belle and shows how she ends up at the Beast’s palace. On the other hand, this movie starred Disney’s first-ever gay character, which didn’t help with things.

6. Jasmine

Aladdin – 1992

Jasmine is the love of Aladdin’s life; he is the main character of the movie. Aladdin gets lucky when he comes across the genie who grants him three wishes. Together, he wins the heart of Jasmine, and they live happily ever after. Join them as they undergo different challenges where Jasmin proves there’s more to her than being a princess.

The Return of Jafar – 1994

Join the adventures of Jasmine and Aladdin as they combat Jafar and his viciousness. Even though the movie is decent, the animation isn’t as stunning as the previous part. But you will enjoy it thoroughly.

Aladdin and the King of Thieves – 1996

In the second sequel, Aladdin ends up uniting with his father, and you will also see the return of Robbin Williams. Meanwhile, Jasmine looks as beautiful as ever and stays cool with Aladdin and the newly added characters. Watch the events unfold as their dynamics change with Jasmine and Aladdin.

Aladdin – 2019

The makers keep aside the animated bits, creating this fantastic epic reality piece. Namoi Scott, starring as Jasmine, adds charisma to her character. In the movie, Jasmine is a 15-year-old, but here you’ll see her as a grown-up with her new song, Speechless, which will surely leave you speechless. The storyline is quite similar to the original movie, with a creepy Jafar and Will Smith as the genie with the coolest songs and tricks up his sleeve.

7. Mulan

Mulan – 1998

Disney is the one franchise that literally thinks of everything. At one point, they have the most adorable line of princesses; conversely, they inspire little girls to be brave warriors. Mulan isn’t a real princess but one of Disney’s best female characters. In hopes of saving her father, she learns to be a warrior so she can go to war and discover new things about herself.

Mulan II- 2004

Mulan II takes things a bit backward; they may be inspiring in the first movie. But in the second movie, Mulan must prevent war between the two countries, and she will be arranged to marry. This movie is more about Mushu and how their characters connect.

Mulan – 2020

Disney without a live version seems impossible! Disney attempted to recreate the first movie in hopes of capitalizing, but it turned out to be a not-so-good version, which received a lot of backlash and created a whirlwind of controversy.

8. Tiana

The Princess and the Frog – 2009

Tiana made a debut in this movie and became the first Black princess of Disney. This movie also has significant value because it is the last movie that was animated traditionally. Tangled: Before Ever After and Rapunzell’s Tangled Adventure – 2017 to 2020

This is when the timeline gets chaotic. The second part is where we see Rapunzel’s hair growing alongside Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure. The episodes are cute, and you know what the ending will be like.

Tangled Ever After – 2012

Disney hasn’t released a full movie yet, but this is just a 6-minute short showcasing the marriage of Eugene and Rapunzel. It was discussed at the end of the Tangled movie but never shown. So, if you have missed out on it, you can surely see what happened.

Brave – 2012

If you’re watching this movie hoping for a happy ending with Merida finding her one true love, then you’re looking in the wrong place.
